Our Humble Request

Respected Sir/Madam,

Sub:    Sponsor for Books, Note books & stationery for orphan / destitute Polytechnic College students - reg.

You are probably aware that the Ramakrishna Mission Students' Home, Mylapore, Chennai is the oldest and well renowned social service organization in India. Started in 1905 in response to Swami Vivekananda's call to evolve a caring society, this institution provides free boarding, lodging and education for 650 orphan and destitute boys. Boys who enter this Home in their 10th or 11th year stay on till they are 18 or 19, in which time they secure either a diploma in Engineering or a degree in a college and are thus able to stand on their own feet.

There are three courses (3 years courses) offered by the Polytechnic college which is purely residential. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering(D.M.E.), Diploma in Automobile Engineering(D.A.E.) and Diploma in Computer Engineering(D.C.E).

There is one area in which you can help. Of the 650 students in the Home, about 400 are in the Polytechnic College. Based on actual expenses, the cost of providing Tuition and Examination fees, books, note books, stationery and uniforms for each student in the Polytechnic college comes to Rs.7500/- per student per year. However we would request you to contribute.

For each student (for one year)  Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. One Thousand only) for Books, Note Books & Stationery etc.

May we request you to bear the cost of these items for as many number of boys as you can afford for this year? By this means you will be an active participant in this onerous task of directly helping the poor and needy children.

Cheque’s/Drafts drawn in favour of Ramakrishna Mission Students' Home, may kindly be sent to the Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Students' Home, New No: 66, P.S.Sivasami Salai, Mylapore, Chennai–4. Contributions to the Home are eligible for deduction for purposes of Income Tax under section 80G.

We invoke the blessings of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna, on behalf of the orphan and destitute boys, to provide you and your organization all the best.

We shall be obliged to receive your early reply.

Endowments are created generally in memory of someone near or dear in the family

Mode of Payment: Remittance may be made by way of cheque or Demand Draft payable at Chennai, drawn in favour of
